12 inch travel shock options
Hi, looking for a set of 12 inch travel shocks for the front of my ln106 with ruf. What have people used and what sort of ride did they give? Currently looking at rancho rs9000 adjustable or bilstein 5125. Cheers

Re: 12 inch travel shock options
I had Rs 9000 in the front of mine (with a prado coil front end). From memory the book said they were for an F150. They were ok but the OME sports I put in the back a year later seemed to be much better.
Quite a different set up to you I guess and it's only subjective information. Don't know how useful that info is.

How did you find the adjustment? Did it work as well as they claim or more of a gimmick?

Yeah the adjustment makes a noticeable difference. That said I only ever really used them on the firm setting. It's not like I had them firm on road and softer off road etc. For the little extra money I'd go with these

Re: 12 inch travel shock options
im running 10inch ranchos in mine with RUF and am pretty happy with them. Could be a little harder on the hard setting but pretty good really. Great being able to put them on soft up the river beds makes quite a difference. That coupled with relatively soft springs makes it a nice ride off road for an old lux. Much easier on your back!
