6.5 Suzuki transfercase gears from lowrange offroad

Postby You Get That » Thu Aug 12, 2010 7:49 pm

Looking for some transfercase gears for my SJ413 looking at the 6.5 gears from lowrange offroad but was quoted $230USD for shipping.
Anyone know how to get some around NZ cheaper?
Or anyone got any in NZ for sale may even look at 4.16s or something.
Thanks.

Im pretty sure Nigel Reid ran 6.5 on his winch challenge sammy, running 32 simexs (measure 33") vitara motor. Ben T hopefully confirm? 4.16 wtih 31" tyres suit nz conditions, ie 6.5 if you need to do rockcrawling/dry track/slow work etc. 4.16 t/c more than adequate for everything else - trialling included. Heath begs to differ for some reason :?:

Hi,
I am getting some stuff shipped in from Low Range and it would save you a fair bit of that shipping.
PM me if you are interested.
Cheers
Tim

totally agree , 6.5's are geared right for 33's on road in high range.
make sure you have some spare axles :!:

Would be inclined to try some 4.9 gears if i had the chance, just a little lower than the 4.16 , would spin 32's real nice bit retian usable dirvablity without have to change into high range all the time.

For what I was doing I found them just a tad too low, but I also wanted bigger tyres (had 30's wanted 31's) which would have fixed my issue. Mind you if I had a 1600 engine instead of the fire breathing g13 it might have been different.

Buying the new gears, putting them in your transfer, driveing slower.
