Suzuki rv 90 about 70's for sale

Postby Dirtydog » Tue Mar 05, 2013 7:06 pm

Hey guys this things been in my garage for quite some time,

its pretty complete, no indicators, or rear light but seems complete.

Has no spark, suspect is coil as wires are broken off, may be an easy fix, may be something else.

I was given it by a good freind, but havnt had the time to work on it, so i think its time to move it on to someone who has the time and effort to bring this classic bike back to its former glory.

its been sitting in a shed for quite some time, rear mudguard is rusted out, but frame is in pretty good nick. everything looks to be there, cant say if it is functional or not.

seat has a few rips, but still comfortable. tyres have heaps of tread, and not perishing from what i can tell.

Here is an example of what the bike looks like from google,

Image

Im after offers for the whole bike, but if there isnt much interest i may part bits out.

I will be putting this on trademe after 2 weeks, would be awesome for it to go to someone who wants to restore it, hence why im offereing it on here first

Arrgh man, a RV90 was my first bike, loved it.

I would love to have one again, just for the memories, pity you are so far away.... :( :(

My daughter has been asking for a old school scooter, although I think she has more a Italian design in mind

Thanks for the wee walk down memory lane

i could chuck it on a pallet for you? i dont imagine it would cost much to send up.

ill get some actual photos of the bike when i can find the camera.

what did you think of them?

i imagine theyd be a nippy little bike being a 2 stroke.

Have PMed you

It was a great wee bike, great on the beach, would get wild in the mud due to the fat tyres, just enough herbs to keep things interesting

ideally around 150 would be nice, would help pay a couple of things.

all the igniton etc still there, i could probably get more if i parted it out but it seems a waste to wreck such a cool bike.

The seat is in pretty good nick too, only 2 small tears in it.

ill grab some photo's and see what you think.

yea it is a little tired.

apart from the guards it really only needs a clean up and engine running.

id love to know the history of the bike is, im sure it would have some tales to tell :)

Likewise, still have the scars on my leg to prove it. Many happy summers as a 10yr to 15yr old on the thing, that and driving the trekka    Mind you I was not popular when myself and my mate took the D12 for a drive one day when the keys were left in it, I thought it was fine, I was 11

i agree it does look to be more a parts bike in terms of frame and engine, doesnt have side plastic, but the bit that goes infront of the fuel tank/2 stroke bottle is mint.

shouldnt cost too much to get up to christchurch, cost me 100 bucks to get a safari auto gearbox from there to here, and i can tell you that was alot heavier.

i will see what i can do, give me an offer and total of what you would pay including freight and ill see what i can sort out for ya.

its sitting here taking up space, much rather it going to a good use.

better than my bike lol,

no missing teeth or anything from what i can tell, kicks over fine, gears are smooth to change.

as far as i can tell the only thing wrong with it is no spark and the rusty back guard/damaged front guard.

even the front light and ignition is in pretty good nick.

Evening,
Just bought a RV 90 for my son as a project..... trade me purchase.
Unfortunately the bike is in terrible order with the engine being fully seized.
I am in Queenstown and now have heaps of parts and want a nice bike for my son. I think the price is good. You can contact me on 0274 427 071.

Thanks
Steve
