Co2 regulator
Co2 regulator
would a co2 regulator from a pub be any good for compressed air bottles? ie for those you use a bottle of air to inflate tires after 4x4 trip.

Re: Co2 regulator
a dive bottle setup needs a first stage regulator from a dive setup, then you can just add a gauge (optional) and a quick release air fitting. I paid $250 for my second hand dive tank and $100 for my first stage regulator, the bottle must be in code otherwise you cant get it filled, the code only lasts 1 year i believe on older bottles. I can fill 16 x 33 inch tyres from about 10PSI back upto 35PSI and quickly

throw an a/c pump on the motor mate you'll have air on tap for ever with no worries about empty bottles or bottles out of test you don't need to piss abut with storage tanks and shit like that just feed straight out of the a/c pump but make sure you throw a pressure switch on the outlet to regulate the clutch
Re: Co2 regulator
thx for that.
a mate is moving house and found a couple of co2 regulators he had buried away.

Re: Co2 regulator
I use a CO2 tank. Great for filling tyres and running air tools. Brought in a high flow regulator from Powertank in the States and just swapped the stem nut over to match NZ CO2 tank thread. Normal regulators will freeze up under the flow needed. CO2 much better than compressed air or Notrogen as it is liquid and thus yields about three times the gas volume. Not such a bomb either as sudden decompression just yields CO2 snow . About $40 to fill 7kg bottle which does about 30 33 inch tyres from 15-36 psi
