what's an ecotec v6 worth?

Postby mfrsr » Sat Mar 19, 2016 9:43 pm

as per title, haven't bought parts for a few years. mate's got a 96 vs commodore sitting on the lawn with a dead auto trans, im trying to convince him to drop his 350 chev shed ornament into it.

a realistic idea of what the old motor's worth would be useful to help things along, trademe's never really been accurate for this sorta thing.

its just average commodore fare - runs sweet, doesnt knock or smoke, few oil leaks, 200 ish thou kms, 5 owners, mate had a heavy boot but nothing horrific. would be sold with loom and computer, don't need them on a real motor...

cheers

you need to sell the entire loom with the security functions ,ignition etc. other wise the engine is just a boat anchor.
Waiter...there is a drought in my glass.

Last stock ecotec I bought was $350 complete from zebra so I'd say somewhere around that mark there are heaps of them out there in the wreakers yards

sweet thanks. will see if that changes his mind....it's a shame to see it rotting into the lawn.
