15x10 Rims

Postby dvk-kp » Wed Apr 13, 2016 5:45 pm

Hi, just brought some more tyres for my Pajero, and will need to sus some rims soon. I will need 6x 15x10s in -44 offset.

Where do you guys buy rims? How much? Reasonable quality? Who give good deals considering I'll be buying 6. I'd hate to spend good money and bend them.

My current wheels are pictured below and I'd like the same style so they all match.

Think they are gloss black. Come up good with a clean. No stripes at all. Seem like a decent wheel but I don't know.

Cant tell you how strong they are but pretty good price and look similar to yours, and I have been able to negotiate a little off the price in the past. They also fit my tyres free when I picked up.

Your better off running 8' rims, you'll continuously knock the tyres off the bead offroad with 10" rims.

Cool thanks, I'll give them a ring after my tyres arrive and see how good they can make their price, any one used the hyper wheels before? Any feed back?

Recommended rim size for the tyres is 15x10 so ill run thos, plus ya have to look cool 8)

Plus I don't have on board air so don't get into letting them down... Just spinning them harder seems to help :D

That's the problem with tyres 12.5" wide....recommended tyre manufacturer rim size legally is 8.5" - 10". No one makes 8.5" so unless getting rims made to suit most go 10's.

You'll be over looking cool after you've popped beads a few times, it's why there's so many 2nd hand 10" rims for sale :).

Why do you have to have 12.5" wide tyres?

Spinning harder is not helpful to other track users. Do it properly, air down and keep the tracks open for others in the long term. How expensive is an air compressor?

I haven't popped a tyre off the bead yet. Road pressure off road helps with that, and me and the guys I go out with arnt extreme level winch challenge stuff... Just go for a hoon up rivers and find as much mud as possible etc. road trucks...

The tyres are bigger then usual too. Swampers, much bigger then my wrangler even tho they are the same size.

There's no proper tracks here so that's no a problem. My truck sounds best hard on the rev limiter so that's where I like to keep it. Im not into slowly picking my way up a trail. Full noise is my style.

Lowering your pressures increases the foot print of the tyre and therefore more/better traction. Good luck in not listening to experienced guys and 'reinventing the wheel' ...xcuse the pun :/.

 I know all that, like I said, I don't have on board air so not going to let them down.

Also I didn't ask for anyone's opinion on my 4wding style, I have a huge amount of fun doing some revving and throwing mud round, I've been doing it that way for years.

I actually asked about where people buy 15x10 rims and input on that topic.

Not everyone on this site is old and slow

Uncalled for attitude mate.
Just because you have been doing it that way for years doesn't make what you doing right.
You are actually contributing to the negative image a lot of people see when they think of 4wders, damaging the tracks and surrounding bush.
Buy yourself a $100 compressor and you can let your tyres down. You gain a heap of traction and by not having your foot 'up it' you're gaining a lot more control over what you do/ where you head.
You don't need to be old and slow to be sensible.

Doesn't make it wrong either. We only go to private places and the owner knows full well we want to make a mess.

I'm not scared of a loss of traction, in fact I prefer it, it's great fun.

You 4wd your way and I'll continue to do it my way. I can be sensible at 7500 rpm.

All I asked for was some info about 15x10 but seems like that was way to much to ask for.

they are all Chinese made rims now mate, if you can find yourself a 4wd friendly tyre shop they'll probably be able to tell you which ones are reasonable and which ones are made out of thin bendy shit :D

Yea I don't want a D window, I did but decided to stick with matching then I'll have 11 wheels and tyres and it won't matter what tyres come and go...

You contradicted yourself a bit there mate, its attitudes like this that ruin the sport for everyone else who trys to look after the environment and stick to the tracks, not find a big bog hole and absolutely #### it.

You kids haven't seen nothing yet if you think this was "trolls" grouping together against you. Go to Pirates and see how you are treated with this question and attitude.

BTW, search the actual meaning of trolling. It's not what you think it is.
