BJ73 manual cruiser with 14BT

Postby Hondaz » Sat Jul 30, 2016 11:58 am

Selling my toy.

• 1985 BJ73 Mid wheel base with FRP top
• 14B Dyna direct injection (rotary fuel pump) diesel motor
• After market turbo and intercooler (14BT now - better than 13BT or the 3B it originally had!)
• Manual 5 speed with new HD clutch
• Custom high flow 2 ½” exhaust with port matched manifold and flanges
• Full ARB Old Man Emu Nitrocharger lift kit except rear shocks as the OME ones were limiting axle articulation (these are EFS Elite nitros which allow better travel)
• OME nitro steering damper
• Extended greasable shackles and castor correction plates
• Custom high clearance axle U bolt mount plates
• Extended diff/t-case breathers
• ARB rear Air locking diff
• 15x10 high offset steel wheels with HD tubes and 35” x 12.5” Goodyear Wrangler MTR tyres
• Chopped guards and extended flares (ugly but needed for WOF with the big wheel offset)
• Onboard air compressor and air tank with ARO couplings
• Fibreglass windscreen surround (had rust in the original and this fixed it permanently)
• Fully rebuilt power steering box (about $1k with full metal spraying etc as the second hand ones I kept putting in were all worn out)
• MSD ignition integrated Boost/EGT metering
• Snorkel
• Chrome Molly Birfields imported from the States – standard ones couldn’t handle the torque as it turns out
• Fire extinguisher
• Towbar - Easily removable when serious off-roading
• Full LVV certification for all modifications that require it
• Fresh VINZ WOF and current Rego

I’ve probably missed a few things too... I have spent quite a bit on it (actually a lot of money on it) – money which I will never be able to recover. The body has a few minor wrinkles as you would expect for it’s age and its intended use. I built it up for my own use but find I am not using it much these days so it really needs to go before I can get any other toys.

Trademe Listing #: 1131355792

Happy to answer any questions. The truck is in Palmerston North

Sounds like a well set up Cruiser, I'd be keen on something like this if I didn't already have the Hilux.

Thanks mate - yeah it is. I used to lurk around on here a few years back and got a few ideas and tech advice for the build. Just a bit sad that I don't use it much now. Used to be in the local club too when I had my last truck.
