Just curious why you didn't just use a map sensor and just tune the tune for cold start and idle?

second question: is it off the shelve radiator your using or a custom made one? looking for ideas

yep is a two wire bmw solenoid.

it is running a map sensor.fires up mint from cold so far.have only tried to fiddle with it once as for tune.My first time at trying to tune anything.Pretty sure ive blocked every thing off for vacuum leaks, but will recheak.

it is a 50mm thick r32 skyline radiator,requires atleast a 50mm bodylift,and a large hole cut up front

taking my sweet time on things but bit of a update,
we now have brakes just need a proper bleed, got a power steer hose made up, so now have powersteering, charges and cooling fan so I can run it longer now!
mounted up a radiator for my intercooler and started making a tank for a extra capacity in the system

haha! trust me I cant wait to give it some jandal....

started to sort transmisson out, pulled pan off and rebent dipstick and managed to squeese it out the top.just.
Image
got a new trans filter, ontop is identical, but the bottom is not quite as thick and the inlet is smaller? I have fitted it, but any thoughts?

mounted up trans and powersteer coolers, got them all plumbed in.
Image

while powersteer was empty, removed the pesky idle up switch in PS pump that i discovered leaked and ripped the guts out and fixed it
Image

then have wired up trans, and transfercase.should really get round to sorting driveshafts then can move under its own power again :D

anyone have experiance with these hubs?

i bought some of those hubs for a safari i had , seemed to be a really tight fit to get on then when it came to taking them off to do the swivel hubs the spigot locating ring that sits inside the wheel/4wd hub got stuck in there whilst the rest of the manual hub came off , could just be a one off thing im not sure but other than that they seemed to work ok , 35's / turbo and they never broke.

my 2cents cheers

few updates, one auto hub had broken the manual lock tabs off, could probably fixed it but Image

then decided to put rear seats in, Image

as theres a big hole in boot floor where shocks and tank now sit, started building a box around it..it is kinda high,as had to go over surge tank, and have to allow for a filler point somewhere
Image

have worked out how to make front driveshaft, with a change of drive flange/redrill can use the diff side of standard driveshaft which has a main diameter of 65 mm. same as a terrano rear. which matchs the flange on the diff once i remove the spirit flange and refit the standard safari one in its place...rear drive shaft I havent quite worked out....

Just rattle off the rear flange and replace with a front one or a terrano one, then use the same set up you have done on the front

we now have frontwheel drive...only.resisted urges to take it for a drive out of the shed...
Image

couple random pics, have mounted intercooler pump
Image if anyone wonders, the bosch intercooler pump fits nicely in the bosch 044 fuel pump bracket

Image new plan for rear drive shaft is to use a standard safari rear, just slightly shortened.with a adapterplate/ trasnfer mounted handbrake disc. works in my head anyway. if not back to plan a and same as front just longer

well have started on some small er pieces while collecting other parts. trying to get ready for a dyno tune, before startingbarwork have got intercooling water pipes all in place and mounted to chassis. whipped up a heatsheild.
Image

Image

foImageund a gap and made up a rad overflow tank, still need to fit a neck and cap onto it holds about 1.8 litres

Image

in the gapImage

got fuel filler and tank breather in.Not 100% sold on positioning of breather but couldnt really think of anywhere else to put it.Has a roll over valve in the tankImage

was meant to be racing mx today but got canceled sooo... made up a breather tank, maybe slighlty experimental but... have uesd a large roll over valve in the top to stop oil leaking out when it falls over. and some guestimated placement of some baffels to see what happens. is vented from the bottom to one rocker cover and the top on the otherside so hopefully always self draining..guess Ill find out oncee it goes...just waiting on one 90 fitting to turn up, then will make mount it.

have spun up my adapter from surf to safari rear driveshaft, aswell as my disc for the handbrake..just have to drill holes and get some bolts. then shorten driveshaft

Image
Image

disc is 200mm in diamter and should just fit beside transfer actuator

finally got around to making sure it drives etc, started it up and tuned it up enough to allow me to drive it around the driveway... had a slight issue with trans not doing what it should, selecting 1st gear when should be in neutral, not selecting reverse, but would change 1st 2nd 3rd and fourth, turned out I just hadnt filled it up enough....doh but had to driveover gravel pile just cause...

just have a few things to tickle up before dyno,(27th) like oil change, fresh sparkplugs etc... next update should be after dyno.hopefully.

Main part of tune is done. I thought waste gate springs were 5 psi, but open at 6.5psi 238kw on low boost at the rears I believe 10psi brought another 31 kw. So 269kw atrw ... I was hoping for maybe 250. So allllgoood:)

Worthless with out pics, here's the final dyno pull, high and low boost. Don't have print outs of it (should have taken photos, didn't think about it ) but full boost at 2600rpm and held it until the limiter :)
