Is that all :?: :!: :?: :!: Mines been off the road/track for nearly 2 years. All things going to plan will b back in the mud this weekend (if it rains some more) and it still requires paint winch and the other nice to have stuff.

Youre smokin and should have it well finished by the time the rain and mud returns for winter.

ha ha . Its been more like 6months. it was only supposed to be a engine swap and a bit of a tidy up
Want to have it ready for the mud this winter.

lilpigzuk wrote:Look at putting some strengthening ribs in your t/c arms. With a rocklobster they will get a heap of extra torque applied too them and end up twisting.

Strengthening the arms will put more pressure on the rubber mounts so keep an eye on them, I see Jafa does beefed up rubber (solid) mounts for zuks

Plan is to reinforce the brackets similar to the pics , but just wanted it in the truck so i could go for a drive.

Image
Want to make something like this. With a full support under the transfer case. Joining the stock arms together.
Not to sure about the solid mounts as a replacement for the factory rubber ones. IMO it would cause alot of vibration to be transferred to the chassis from the drive train.

Image
Also like the look of this bash plate as the transfer and handbrake setup are quite vulnerable under a Zuk.

redzuki on here has lifted his transfer case up for a flatbelly with honda engine mounts I think. He has cut the floor and rebuilt it around the trasnfer case. It looks pretty nice for a ginger ;)

Could be an option for you

Had quite a productive Day today.
Pic aren't the best as I waited untill dark before remembering to take them.
Image
Passenger side rear virtual lift 95% done and all welded up. Just got a few pin holes and a little bit of rusty cheese to replace and that side is all done. :D
Image
Different view of the rear. I cant believe just how much welding has gone into it.
Image
Also patched up the big hole that was in the front of the rocker panel on the same side.
Still have to extend the front guard at the rear to cover the hole up between the guard and tub. Then mount flares.

Sounds very interesting. Did he have to extend the rear drive shaft? Would be interested to see some pics if you have any.

ok update time
Been real slack at posting progress.

Scored new shifter bush's from Ice Kayak for the gearbox and Transfer. Transfer went in no probs and made the world of difference. no longer jams in gear or jumps out.

gearbox was a different story. At some stage someone had wreaked the shifter bolt thread so they tapped it out and tread-serted it. the new bolt they used was crap and it flogged out and did this to the alloy seat
Image
And this to the shifter its self. no wonder gear changing was so rough.
Image
Both are poked and im currently looking for a new alloy seat for the gearbox.

Virtual lift is finished completely :D :D Hell of alot of work.
All the panel work is finished and just doing final tidy up and prep for paint.
painted the windscreen , attached the hoop properly, rear checker plate panels in and tail gate on.
One door ready for paint. (one still to do , last major paint prep job.)

I want to take it to ZUKFEST 2010

Fixed up the smashed in rockers panels
Image
Went from this to this
Image
Started mocking up sliders / exo mounts

Fixed up the smashed rear quarter panel.
Image
Went from this to this
Image
bog is no wear near as thick as it looks , hammered the panel out as much as i could from the inside .
proborbly be the first panel i smack into a tree on the first trip out

Image
Front all back together , and getting prepped for paint.

Plan at this stage is to paint the truck after labor weekend. going to be a backyard / carport / tarp special  Color will be blue of some shade.

Also got this sitting at home getting ready to go in.
Image
G13B epi Twin Cam
Engine has had a birthday(new seals oil belts etc) have sorted out the plumbing , right angle adapter for the dizzy , engine mounts , exhaust and just about got the custom loom / ecu set up done.
Just have to figure out what to do with fuel , get a WOF on the truck and i will wack it in for some 7000rpm singing goodness

A few pics of the engine mods so far

Image
Suzuki Swift SA310 (G10)thermostat housing - used as the G13b thermostat housing sticks straight out the back of the engine into the firewall (origionally an east /west engine). M16 fine thread bolt cut down to fit and block the factory thermo switch hole.
Image
new rear end seal
Image
Slightly modified G13a oil pick to go with the G13a sump
Image
Bottom end , checked all nice and tight , all cleaned up ready for a new sump gasket.

yep all gettin stripped down for a proper job 8)

Should only take about an hour. Being a soft top and all the bolts have anti seize on them

Commandeered my mate to weld the crush tubes for the bull bar into the chassis rails last night . Chopped off the horey bottom mounts on the bullbar and finished fab of the new mounts.

Unreal how many little things you notice when the paint dead line is looming
But then again it only has to look sweet for the first pics , scratches, scrapes , more dents and mud pending.

WOF has been ordered and inspector booked to come and have a look.
