Have since found out i couldve used the surf cross member

Bit late but if it was a LN130 surf gearbox wouldnt it be a R151 gearbox?

It now moves under its own power
Only forward and back a couple of meters but it goes, this is the first time I have ever driven it since owning it.
Not much to do now 8)

Fitted my new steering dampener and rear shocks.
Swapped over power steer box for a manual one.
Having a big day tomorrow with a wheel alignment, fitting of a new headliner and getting the windows put back in :D, and hopefully get an exhaust made up.
Also bought a heap of new stuff off ebay to pretty it up a bit.

Thanks guys,
Have spent the last couple of days getting rid of all the old rusty bits and putting in some new steel, fitting it to the chassis and made up a new frame behind the cab as the old one was bent and ugly.
So now its all ready for a blast and paint.

Thanks,
Still got some interior to do,
carpet, dash to get covered, door panels to make and get covered but no wof issues so they can wait.

Do do list for WOF,
paint deck with new ply and get the bumper painted and fitted
fit mud gaurds to rear and flares to the front
fit windscreen wipers
may also have to get it revined as here is no vin number, i have ethier lost it or it never had one ???

went to fit the tow bar and it hits the spare tyre so im on the look out for another one, not a major problem but id hate for someone to run up the back of it at the moment.
oh and get the front valance repanel beated and painted affter a little accident in the garage

sorted, copied off LTSA website,
Vehicles first registered in New Zealand before 1 April 1994 and vehicles that entered or were manufactured in New Zealand before 1 February 1994 don't require a VIN if they've got a frame or chassis number. If their frame or chassis number has been removed, they must have a VIN.
thats one problem to cross off the list

Picked up my powder coated bumper and nicely painted deck frame from the painters today and fitted them. Just need to get some new ply for it.
Still waiting for my rear mud guards and number plate holder to get folded up, in the next couple of days hopefully.

Made some new door cards up in the weekend and dont have all the clips, has anyone got some spares they don't need?

#2 mud flaps on back gaurds, done.
#3 front wheel bearings need a tweak, where the fark have my circlip pliers gone
I have two messy sheds and they must be in one of them hope to sort this out today.

To be honest I can't stop going out to the shed and just looking at it. I have literally put my neck out over the last week doing what needed to be done so think it would be fair to drive it to the physio tomorrow.

It's a credit to you man.
All that work and you only failed on a couple of small things too (which you've already fixed, mint!). Must be a good feeling

You have done a brilliant job, and getting a small WOF fail list like that is a good testament to how fussy you have been on the rebuild.
Great effort.
