1981 HILUX REBUILD
1981 HILUX REBUILD
started off looking like this
stripped down to inspect rust
just found this
getting ready for paint
3RZ waiting to go in (had the bonus of headers allready fitted)
got new seals and weather strips put into my rear window
a big thank you going out to GATEWAY GLASS & GLAZING in Tokoroa for getting it sorted for me,
its just like a new one
painting has started
front gaurds back together with bagde's and Izuzu side lights, perfect fit
doors back together with new lock mechanism's and new door hinges and had to put one on for a pic, they will have to come off again soon

I have an RN46, running a lexus and im using a w56 box out of an LN130 surf, i have used the factory RN46 cross member but had to add a mounting plate that was about 60 - 80mm back from the cross member for the gearbox mount.
Have since found out i couldve used the surf cross member

i have moved the engine back 50mm and with the w56 box its around 150mm back from the original mounting point

bloody nice aye, if your baseing it on that above pic then this rig is gona look real good, should be a nice stylie comfy driver with the 3rz and high steer, the work your putting in to the cab is making me think i should do the same to mine, but after i have finished it, wheeled it for a bit and smashed the body...
