right got quite abit achieved today although it looks like nothing in the pics... :( gearbox crossmember is done, all of the extra bracing/capping bits for the front have been cut and some tacked in. Know where the final mounts of the lower arms are going, decided to move them. Just need to do spring pads and shock tabs next then the 'unknown' part of the build will be done.

Left to do:
Modify engine/gearbox adaptor plate,
modify engine mounts,
mount steering box,
modify steering shaft,
rebuild front diff,
2x driveshafts,
finish bar work,
rear mount radiator,
finish and mount petrol tank,
mount fuel pumps and surge tank,
all the fuel, brake and radiator lines,
wire new engine,
modify the seat mounts,
mount harnesses,
modify pto shaft and mount pto,
rear mount electric winch and route rope,
buy/fit/wire new tail lights,
paint cab so its all one colour,
finish bolting the cab back together.

and were still aiming for it to make the 24hr teams challenge...

edit:adding to the to-do list...

hmmm looking at the pics I'd say you'd get away with a hilux steering box and stock hilux steering style.... there would still be some bump at full articulation down
Or like I was planning with my trails truck mount the steering box on the axle and run the steering shaft in line with one of the links if done right no bump steer

Keen to see 8)

So then it got a new home and Caleb (Filthy4x4) decided he was a painter.

Also got a new cab with a flat floor and interior firewall and some other bits and pieces. cheers

Update time: nothings happened.

Running the Force4 King of the Palace winch challenge has taken up most of my spare time over the past couple months so the trucks sat neglected.

The auto in the tow wagon gave up on me so that's first on the list to fix then ill find the motivation to get stuck into the rover again.

I have however picked up a lj78 auto and transfer which I'm going to put the pto gear in out of my fj40 transfer case and then bolt behind a 1uz so no more jeep motor.

Cheers

Nice one Andy!

Keep up the good work, on the truck and the events. (heard that King of the palace was an awesome event!)

Cheers.

Been working on Caleb's (Filthy4x4) Safari getting it ready for the Manukau WC so progress really has stalled, thats my excuse anyway. Pulled the LJ78 case apart and have started on the cruiser box, the drive gear is going to JRC to have the gear faced so they'll mesh easier. VVTI 1uz should be here in a few weeks and then i can put it together and maybe make some progress, big thanks again to JRC for sorting out the motor for me.
