Getting close!

What did you use for front springs? Did you make your own spring towers?

Front springs are 2in lift 80 series..started with standard 80 springs (but they must have been saggy) new ones are way better..rear is 4 inch lift swb saf.

Yes made my own spring towers.they aren't the most beautiful creations however.. I can see how my skills have progressed from the start

Few more things knocked off the to do list, picked up some never sieze and a bag full of bolts,
Finished bolting cage on. So that's Solid, finally got around to mounting the rear of sliders.

Replaced some of the 4 link bolts that were a smidge to short.

Mounted a return spring for handbrake.

Started making mounts for new front indicators, got some hella strip Leds will weld mounts on tommorow.

Lists getting shorter

Might be worth putting some other 35s on it for the cert braking test......
Mine went on brand new Simexs a few years back, they were not looking too new after he had done all the brake tests, pretty much rounded all the sharp edges off......
Was less than impressed with that........

Cheers bud

A mate has a set of 35s on 15x10 rims hell lend me, going to ask Mr certifier of hell run thoose for brake test but probably not put on the plate cause I'd imagine there far too wide..going to have to fit some run some rubber flare as tread just pokes outside exo still.... we will see....

Yeah mate. Do what you have to to get your mates 35's on for the cert if they are radials. Makes everything handle/feel better than with the bais ply tyres. Makes for a cheaper/easier cert.

Borrowed a d plate and took for wheel alignment today, one thing there's a miss on the high boost setting as it hits 10psi.... will need to investigate.suspect it's actually a tune limit not quite right.runs sweet on low boost so will leave it there for now.

And they couldn't do wheel alignment as there machine wouldn't fit beadlocks.... so will attempt again next weekend.not working next sat so will trailer it there on some 31s.

Made driveshaft loop, hopefully up to spec, I didn't cover top as it backs onto a crossmember so it is fully enclosed still. 4 m10 bolts.

For wheel alignment sorted today ..Replaced drag link and tie rod with heavy duty stuff before hand so it's all nice and new for me certifier...but both diffs appear to be pointing in the same direction as a bonus!

Week till d day so sorting the last few issues. Cut up some flares,
20160203_165746.jpg

Pulled driveshaft and handbrake off as small oil leak from rear flange, just need to seal it on as marlin crawler flange doesn't have oil seal.

Also need to add another reforcement to bracket to handbrake as not completely happy with the mount.

But will sort it tommorow

Just took spec sheet to Mr certifier, caster at about 1 degree no good....need to sort asap...will go look at options..maybe should bite the bullet on a set of superflex arms to help the non existent nissan flex...hmmm wallet doesn't really say yes but...

What is your caster angle?

Also you would want to know for sure that he will pass the Superflex arms as they have their own cert issues don't they?

So diff needs to rotate back a hair, I had already extended front mounts lower than factory.could go further I surpose? He didn't think caster correction bushes would sort it,but as far as I can tell 1.5° would put me in spec?

Personally I'd be aiming for heaps more. Bigger tyres equals bigger caster requirement. I'm assuming that 2-3 degree is for factory 29 or 30" tyres? Guys seem to talk about 6 degrees at ride height for dessert racing. Can't remember what mine are now but think I was aiming for 5 degrees when I built my radius arm mounts.

Ask Neal if he will accept anything greater than the 3 degree "spec", if so, I'd aim for 4-6 degrees.

Also I think you are only allowed +- .5 degree either side. Of factory settings . so 6 would be too much..

Sweet. Best you do some googling and figure out what you reckon is best to aim for then. And let us know how you go with cert if you get super flex arms.

Also Kaipoi repowers make there own super flex type arms. They look like a good thing.

Superflex arms are no problem to cert, Lchundy(spellings) big red 80 was in the workshop with them and he said no problem to cert if branded etc.

I have a feeling replacement Radius arms will be the best bet.. I have messaged Nathan on fb awaiting reply...now it's weather I can get a set before wensday otherwise no point going in for cert

Bugger iy wallet is much lighter...just coughed up for super flex arms from 4wdbits.... hopefully be here tomorrow. So new wheel alignment on Tuesday.

Quickest option to get sorted before wensday.hurt but it's ordered. Will hopefully make use of front shock abilities now as a bonus.

Righto. Kaiapoi arms would be ok if saf chassis, they fit aftermarket Dropbox to go to a bush rather than factory pin style...bit short time to go changing everything noe to do that.a bit cheaper than superflex by a fee hundred...

Just a note safari pin style does restrict flex and bushes get bit of a hammering off road.
The cruiser design will give more flex and bushes last longer.
