Something I did that maybe worth doing, was in the link, setting a change in the rev limit once the engine temp hits 105 deg.
I think ive got it set to 5000rpm, it was just enough to let you know it was getting hot, but not too much to rob you of all your power while in a stage.
I prefered to do that rather than running a water temp gauge, cause you didnt need to look for it and at least you knew it was the temp the ecu was seeing and reacting too.
It does work good too, Ive only hit it twice in the last 4 years

Pureora in Taupo. Might be 1 or 2 Kilometers closer than Woodhill.
Can give you a name and number of a guy who's often keen to go out and knows the tracks well if you want to organise a play date. He's got that blue single cab Patrol.

Most of us do. I'm building a second one that'll go better than me, hadn't even mastered the first one.
He's patient dude, So long as your not arrogant or a complete retard when it comes to safety during recoveries you'll be sweet.
Let me know if you ever plan a trip that way.

Mine came on my winch, runva Evo. 9500.
Was from winch. Co.nz BUT I've delt with him twice. Neither have been favourable occasions. Would recommend going anywhere else

Winch rope did snap while trying to straight Panhard so I could back down the hill without destroying my sump though
