Used this gates belt 6PK to run the accessories, which takes into account removal of the air con unit.

Ok so this project is still running - have had some time lately to make some more progress.
I was having some trouble wiring in the ignitor packs to the ECU, so I ended up ditching the factory loom (which I was metering and splicing into the aftermarket loom) and bought a plug and play MS loom for the 1UZ made by a chap in Tauranga. This thing is great and within about 3 or 4 hours was wired up and ready to go. I stripped off all the old loom for the 1UZ and replaced it with this simple loom. All brand new plugs too, the old toyota ones were very brittle and cracked in some cases. Have also installed a fancy start button
In terms of wiring left to go; wire the fuel pump to relay. Wire in the thermo fan.
Then i'll be filling it up with fluids and giving it a start up!

Ok so attempted to start it today - not firing. Turns over well and is logging RPM and temp data in the Tuner Studio software for the Megasquirt. (Its all setup for the 1UZ engine programme wise)
Thought this may be related to the coils as doesn't seem like its getting spark.
It's getting fuel as I can hear and see the feed/return pressurising.
Will keep trying a few things and fingers crossed it jumps into life!
