Just a quick question re front shaft.
With the links being wat shorter than the shaft it will mean the d.s will get shorter with axle down travel. Was this taken into account when making the d.s. ? My guess is it could be any where near 40mm

If u change axles and engine the hole master plan goes out the window ha ha but if u look at the first pic of the drive shaft construction i made a dummy shaft and cycled the suspension on my gantry crain. Even with no shocks it has plenty of slip 8)

Haha all good saw the first pic but thought it was just a test for fit. Now that you mentioned fitting it a cycling it through the total movement sort of wish i had thought of doing the same thing on my build....
Sometimes i just strike it lucky....other times not so much

Redoing all my links. Didn't like the spherical rod ends or the link material.
I'm going to be using schedule 80 pipe and Toyota Surf rear trailing arm rubber bushes. They have a 16mm bolt. Strong, less road noise, better fitted for the application.

Also making the rear with air bags so it can kneel down for easy loading, and able to handle different loads. Changing up the style of link suspension that i think will be stiffer and have good road manners.

I'm watching your front axle suspension setup very closely and see how I can implement to Volvo 2 as I suspectt they will be very similar conversion process. There is also these airbags we are looking at

Yup well worth the anti splatter saves so much time on clean up, Im sold.

I found those bags too. They mint huge load range and usable travel. Was my first choice but price held me back. Love your build BTW, go the 2jz :D

Think ill do a 4 link front with panhard bar but not parallel. Top links 70% of lower, to keep the caster correct.
Considering air bags up front as well they work so well out the back.

Flexed it out no binding or brackets colliding 8)

you going to run each axle set of bags on one circuit? not too worried about all the air from one bag shifting to the other or will you run a swaybar? I guess it may be an advantage for flex to let the air shift but I'd be a little worried about stability TBH

Once had a drive of a single cab ute converted 80 that was on bags all around. He had to taps by the drives seat. Opening the taps allowed free air movement from left to right, one tap per axle. When he went back on road or higher speed stuff you just close the taps and deflate one bag until pressures matched left to right. The deflate buttons were on the dash with the inflate buttons. Deflate was per wheel. Inflate was per axle.

Seemed to work well, but mostly I was just stoked about being given a sick 80 to thrash through the bush in Cape York!
