Hi Jafa

Is that still Waitawheta mud on the bonnet from a couple of years ago ?

You must have used up all the timber stacked all over it now and will be ready for a West Coast trip before long ?????? between the diving.

Good to see the Jalopy again

Cheers Richard

We have a winner!

And yes there will be some more action shots coming up, a bit of work needs to be done to the old girl, then we'll get it dirty again. Got some repairs on the brakes, hydro assist and electrics. I'm going to "back-half" it too. I'll be tearing the axles down for some maintenance, and replacing the broken screen, generally a bit of a birthday.
This will all be taking place in its new double garage in Katikati, as we're moving to the BOP very soon 8)

Hi Richard,
Yeah I'm getting the itch to go wheeling again, 18 months playing at being a Welly yuppie, had enough of that!
Gimme a bit of time to get it sorted, and we'll be into it, already committed to the Godley trip in August, so there's motivation already  Looking forward to seeing the West Coast again, some of the best wheeling to be had over there, not that I need to tell you that!

Fixed all the pics from the first five or so pages, spent hours getting the pics off the server and up to imgur then relinked.
So I've only had the old girl out a handful of times lately, but now its at home, not 30 minutes away in another shed, makes working on it a lot easier.
Speaking of working on it, its well overdue for some TLC, I went to the Kiwi Challenge and broke a few bits, snapped a rear axle early in the comp, and with no spare, (the joys of custom parts  )
I had to compete in 3 wheel drive which is not cool.
On the last stage of the event I was really throwing it hard at a climb, smashed against a wall with the left front wheel and sheared the kingpin off, winched the climb and put it on the trailer
So the plan is to give it a major birthday, and a rework in a few areas. I want to lower it a lot, its miles to high, need to get the cog down. I also want to add rear steer, for our tracks it is far to long and unwieldy, 3 point turns everywhere isn't fun,
I need to sort out my winch as well, the hydro is strong, but soooo sloooow, and running from a pwr steer pumps sucks.
So my plan is to build a new chassis, something like a Bent Fab or Goatbuilt tuber with reasonably easy to remove cab. It also needs more storage than I have now, I've got room for a pint of water and half an apple for lunch and that's it :D
It will keep the 3rz, but maybe go to single case with 4.7's in it.
I want to move the drivetrain back a lot and down, and give myself more up travel at both ends.
Oh its getting a BorgWarner EFR7064 turbo as well, new cams, and some other bits a pieces to give a nice reliable 280hp at the flywheel, not too much hp so it breaks everything, but more power for wheelspeed.
I want it to handle better at speed, like not 100mph like a KoH car, but gravel roads at 50 or 60 is pretty scary right now lol

TripleXJ's rig is almost exactly what I'm shooting for...

Like this too...

I like the "pantydropper" as well, like the removable cab idea, for I will damage it :D
