Could go have a look, it's got no WOF or reg though. Flights from aux are cheap enough so not to worried, just need to secure the truck for now.

Dudes out hunting tonight so he's gonna call back in the morning :D

Fingers and toes crossed she's not rotten and rusty

Lined up waiting to get on the ferry to head back to Hamilton :D :D

Temp gauge not working and pretty scruffy cosmetically, but the engine and gearbox are tight, drives nicely, the interior is exceptionally good, has a brand new WOF and 140,000 on the clock. That's just 300,000ks less than what Dusty had on the clock

Very happy. Seller was a good dude, had a red soft top 90 and a bling as dark metallic blue TD5 110. Could have talked Land Rovers for hours

Have already booked Mudslut in at Supreme Panel and Paint Works for panel and paint treatment to the doors. Gotta be pretty 8)

Shopping time at http://www.landroverspares.co.nz also :D

Gonna be a slow trip up the big hills onto the central plateau with out a temp gauge and an unknown engine. Don't wanna take any chances :? :?

Wow, no stuffing around there! I was reading updates on thread, seen nelson mentioned, then realised there was no link on previous post :? . No use offering to help check it out now tho- must have been a good buy to be in your hands so quick!
Good luck with all swapping/redoing all previous work, and wishing a speedy recovery to the young chap

Must have been you I passed driving it in Blenheim about 10:30ish this morning? Saw it, but was too busy staring at the number plate to see if it was the same one to notice who was driving

Well looks like the Satelitte going to be revolving around itself again for a while. What's the timeframe 21 days or 28 to complete.

I'm so tempted to take a week off work and smash it out

Will get photos up today, some good warts and all before shots.

We got him at 11am yesterday, and with half an hour of being home, in the drive way we had 3 more Defenders, a mistral, safari and another couple of cars. Massive working bee, unbelievable to see how much people care. Really stoked with what was achieved.

First mission for me on the new truck is the rusty door frames and the cosmetic issues. Panel and paint time :D :D

I'm a little behind the 8 ball and just caught up on this thread.... Gutted to read about the crash dude... And hope the family is healing up fast, and will be good as new soon?!

One door closes, and another one opens...

I'll be watching the 'new' rebuild with interest :)

Cheers,

Jay

Yip, came home from work today to meet the tow truck who was picking up Dusty at 8.30am to find the house had been burgled in the half an hour between when Sarah left for work at 8am and when i got home at 8.30am. Yay, new TV, camera and Laptop time

On a truck related note, took Betsie down to the Ambulance wash bay at 4x4amb's work shop afterwork and hit the engine bay and underside with the steam cleaner cranked to 100 degrees

Everyone gets dealt curve balls now and then, its how you deal with it that counts :D :D

They found the gun safe but didn't manage to get into it, so I've taken them all to another storage location and Im going to leave a note in it for when they come back

Worst part is that work is progressing rapidly on Betsie, and I have no camera to keep my thread updated!!! Come owwwwn AA Insurance!!

Dye pack!!! paint em green!

Was going to suggest stink pack (skunk scent), but that might be harder to live with after the fact than a little green dye.
