Hi all, as per title. I am looking at buying some new shocks for my kzn130 surf. It seems that tough dog do good shocks, but opinions vary from brand to brand. Does anybody have experience/knowledge of good shocks that give good ride comfort etc?

Cheers.

I have a combo of rancho adjusties in the rear of my cruiser and Raw big bore in the front and i find they are a great combo i will definatly be replacing with the same setup again! I delt with Autoline in town and found them awesome to deal with sharp price and happy to work to find the correct shock size for my setup.

But i have also had OME gear under my truck too and they are also top quality and tough.

My 2c may/may not be helpful?

x2 on the OME stuff but you'll probably find thats about a grands worth of shocks to shell out for, good bang for your buck if your planning on keeping the truck for a long time coz they last forever long after you've been through a few sets of cheapies, I brought a couple of sets of secondhand ones about 10 years ago for a couple of hundred bucks, I cant even remember what they came off but they were the right extended/compressed lengths and they are still going strong other than needing a dulux recon after getting a bit rusty looking.... they look all bling again with a new coat of paint 8)

any other brands you're looking at the general rule is you get what you pay for and as they say "a poor man usually ends up paying twice" so factor that into your choice :D I'd also be considering those Bilstein shocks suzolas selling at $180 a corner if they are the right length/configuration and comes within the budget

I've run Rancho's in my nissan since I've owned it (13 odd years). The first set have just been replaced (around 6 months ago now), and it has been treated like an offroader (jumps etc) on more than a few occasions. I wouldn't use anything else.

Just put Ranchos in all 4 corners of the DC Lux, mine are the 9 stage adjustable, paid $900 from Dave Hadleys, but he has closed down since.
They work real good for me as I use the truck for loads of firewood/motorbikes/hunting and of course 4WD :)

OME are about $180 per shock. Thats $720 to do ya truck. See if you can go for a ride in a truck fitted with the shocks your looking at and you will soon pick the ones your after.
