was thinking of upgrading turbo on my 80 series when i do 3 inch exhaust. what is a good replacement turbo to use cheaper the better or should i get mine rebuilt. it still goes fine but truck has done 300 000 plus ks. truck tows a 14 foot caravan about 5 times a year.

To be honest you're much better keeping the ct26 and get it rebuilt with a larger compressor wheel if you want a bit more oomph out of it. I've put an aftermarket turbo on mine and although it goes pretty damn well, its not really worth the effort. I originally did it as at the time it was cheaper than fixing mine or purchasing another turbo (all of the internals were rooted).
Have a search through the forum, a few people have suggested places to get them rebuilt. If you want to spend oodles of money, google gturbo.

i got mine rebuilt on my 80 with a bigger compressa wheel put in it and it spools up 200rpm early that it use to, takes off better and pulls loads better up hills, i highly recommend it.
