You could do a suspension lift with box section steel like this guy:

Or do a body lift with box section like this guy:

Therefore, when you're on a tight budget and you need to get stuff done, box section is your friend

Don't care to much about the handling but road legal would be good haha

Why do you need to raise it? Tyre clearance? If so just borrow an angle grinder, a hammer and some vice grips. Spend $20 on grinding discs and paint. Maybe even splash out $25 on some sikaflex and a bunnings caulking gun to use as a "flexable bog" to fill up some of the gaps after you cut and fold a new curve on your guard. Pretty ghetto though.

Also you can gain about 20mm of "tyre to rear of front guard/firewall" clearance for free by unbolting the front axle from the leaves, redrilling the locating pin hole in the spring perch (about 20mm back) and bolting it all together again. Note that you will possibly loose some right hand lock and will definitely need to mess around with drag link adjustment. I guess the torque arm thing to the top of the diff will need some kind of mod/adjustment as well. This is much less ghetto.

the answer to your question would be dependant on what your trying to achieve by lifting it up 4 inches, is it to fit and clear large tyres, get some long travel suspension flex going or just the look cool factor :?: to get big tyres on it would also include some major drive train and/or gearing changes to get the torque to turn them adequately and compensate for the tall gearing and reducing ratios in the diffs usually makes them weaker so you could have to look at upgrading to bigger/stronger diffs as well to eliminate breakages and retain reliability, if you want long travel articulation that usually sacrifice's road manners so you could end up with a truck that has awesome capability offroad but is a dangerous dog on road that that has pretty scary bodyroll and steering geometry and it gets to the stage you don't enjoy or want to drive it anymore, if you just want the look cool factor then its just that :D

you have to realize that's a fairly vague question. Are your springs sagged to hell? Can you tolerate a little rubbage at lock and bump?

I had 33's on my RN36 with no body lift, not bad springs and 8.5" rims with a big offset (big offset makes it worse as the radius of the arc is bigger). They rubbed a bit at full bump, but not too bad. Then I moved the axle forward (as above) and it was all good. Your truck is a different model obviously, but from what I have seen I would expect you will get 33's on with out much work.

Can you borrow a 33 wheel/tyre for a day to fit it and have a measure up? That's where I would start. You may find a body lift doesn't help much (as they usually rub at the back of the guard)

My rzn60 surf just has 50mm body lift, the front springs are standard but not saggy, I have 33s on 15x8 -19 rims rubs a wee bit at full compression and lock.

Thanks Stu
