Postby 93beachbasher » Thu Feb 19, 2015 6:39 pm

Holden 3.8 I believe it was originally in a 96 commodore with the Holden auto and the Hilux transfer professionally installed

We run a 3.8 matched to a TH700 auto and Land Cruiser split transfer-case in my mates winch challenge truck... Runs sweet ...
If you plan to off road it you need to stop water getting into the crank angle sensor plug... We used dielectric grease on the plug and wires....
It has also had the ecu chip tweaked and removed the knock sensor input... The sensor breaks down after a while and will send erroneous signals to the ecu and cut fuel or stop it running full stop. And the fuel map changing ....And the rev limiter removed (probably not wise for a general truck) ahhahahaha

In short, if its a good conversion, you can't go wrong

If you plan to wheel it you would want to get a custom rear pick up sump made as these starv of oil when on crazy angles for lengths of time.
