Sinking clutch pedal

Postby Mazuki » Sat Jul 01, 2017 3:23 pm

Hi all

I have a 5spd kjz95 prado with a sinking clutch pedal issue. I recently had to replace the standard prado master clyinder with the funny diaphragm thinng on the bottom for a standard landcruiser unit.just had to swap over the resivior as the prado one was shorter to fit under the heater pipe hoses.
All was well for a few months including a 3000km tour of the South island.
Recently the pedal started sinking to the floor if you push it past half way. It's not leaking fuild anywhere that I can find. My feeling is the compression spring on the pedal is somehow going over centre and pushing pedal to the floor but it could also be fluid getting past the seals in the master clyinder but I don't see how this would drag the pedal to the floor .
Any light on the subject would be appreciated.

Vacuum booster? It could be that it's running out of vacuum past a certain point.
