g13a rebuild or diesel

Postby slidenyo » Sun Aug 31, 2014 10:16 am

turns out our little 413 is leaching a little water into the oil,
could just be b.h.g or something more sinister.
are there any common faults with these to worry about?
like soft heads , cracking blocks etc etc
if they're inherently quite strong i'll rebuild it ,
or if not i'll head to a little diesel and auto conversion.
Suzuki advice and input would be appreciated

Haven't heard of any issues with G13s in terms of block/head cracking, normally only the G16 that suffers those problems. IMHO stick with the G13 as the biggest advantage of a zuk is light weight and by putting in a diesel you will reduce that advantage and the weight added will be at the front and there is enough there already. Mine had the 1300 in it for over 2 yrs, I caned the shit out of it and it still ran sweet when I pulled it out just wanted more power (replaced with G16). I'd just take the head off and get it tested/skimmed if need be, fit a new gasket and thrash it. :D
