3inch lift camber bolts not enough help!

Postby Marculo » Thu Feb 20, 2014 8:08 pm

Hi guys I have a stock 92 swb 1.6 16v that I have recently done a 3inch suspension lift and also front strut top hat flip and ended up with extreme front positive camber .guessing about 3-4 degrees I have just put in some camber bolts I brought off eBay which give a max of 1.75 + or - camber and obviously still not enough adjustment to sort out my problem .
Any tips or ideas on getting more adjustment ?
Possibly run 2 extra camber bolts up front 1 up top and also on bottom?
Your help would be much appreciated!!

Marcus

On mine the knuckle hit the strut where the top bolt goes through not allowing it to go in any further. I filed the knuckle away and got heaps of camber change after that.

I took a die grinder to the top bolt hole that the shock bolts to.
I found camber bolts were a pain at best.
Its better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

For off road/race stuff the camber bolts tend to work loose, I've had to weld a few in place. I'd die grind, fit a couple of heavy washers, set it then spot weld the washers in place to hold it.
Definitely don't fit 2 bolts on each side...

Mine did. Paint everything black and a decent coating of mud. Straight round to VTNZ. Trust me....

The calmini 3" kit has longer lower arms to correct camber.
