Jimny Tyre Scrub

Postby obansam » Mon Mar 23, 2015 6:43 am

Hi all, just after some ideas, I've fitted new tyres & rims to my Jimny. Tyres are 215/75 with 15x7" Rims -15mm offset. I have a 40mm suspension lift fitted.

They scrub front & rear only just, but enough to cause a problem, I'm and trying to decide if I should go for a small body lift (25mm) or trim my guards. Alternatively I was thinking about 15mm spacers for my coil springs. Thinking that the springs would still compress the same amount so I'd end up with 15mm additional clearance when fully tucked up....dunno if my logic is flawed or not? If I do go for spacers I'm wondering if I'll put anything else outa whack!?

I could always fit the new tyres to my stock rims, but I'm keen for the additional offset...that and the fact I've paid for the rims! :D

Cheers
Andrew

trimming the guards on a Jimny isn't usually a problem.
