hey guys.

i have a SJ 413 and want to fit larger tyres, however i am pretty certain i need more offset as the tyre is most likely going to hit the leaf when at hard lock.

So im wondering if there are any wheels that are fitted as OEM to other vehicles that will fit the SJ stud pattern, but also give me the offset i need to run a 31 inch tyre. i am after a 15 inch rim.

i also should add this is a very budget build, hence the question!

cheers guys. :D

I have some steelies for a Zook that I'll sell ya. Bought them for my Escudo but won't be running them after all. Mega offset. Centers have been flipped by Zukmeista.

As for what you really need, I'm not 100%, someone else should be able to tell you...

I ran cj jeep rims on mine for a bit. 15x8 though so a bit wide.
Do be careful as rims with the correct offset for a samurai can scrub the springs like you are worried about because the 413 diff is slightly narrower. You can set up steering limit bolts to fix it but you increase your turning radius.

Technically probably not but most wof inspectors wouldn't notice

its perfectly legal to flip centres the same as widening rims, changing centres and beadlocking but it has to meet lvvta criteria and pass their certification to be used on a road vehicle

Yeah more room than I needed. Too much offset and larger tyres will hit the firewall even with 31's. 31's will sap more power than you expect too

ok, would you recommend about a -20mm offset or that a bit much?

Depends on your rim width and tyre combo what offset suits. Is the truck on the road? need to keep the tyres in the guards?
From memory, the 15x8 -19 stuck the tyre just too far out the guard for a wof. Would suit the samurai I expect.

well its got a set of 27s on atm..... but want to get 31 by 10.5s on there in the future

nah its not on the road currently, but working on it to bring it up to legal spec so it can be, however.

yeah well i am expecting to have to make flares for it, so thats alright.
but there werent any other issues to speak of when running that king of offset though?
