d21 navara Free wheel hub

Postby 4wdnuts » Sun Aug 21, 2005 6:50 pm

hey guys new to the website and what a good one it is. however i have encounted a problem with the superwinch manual locking hubs. i broke the drivers side one today. the peice that is broken is the slidong ring with the teeth on it. does anyone have one lying around or know where to get one or do you have to buy the whole unit. its a 21 spline.

I've got a pair I could sell you, they were off a Hilux so not sure if they'll fit, someone will pop into the thread and say so :P

No!! Wd21 axles are most commonly 27 spline and some reason you get the odd one that is 25 spline.
You can buy parts for them, just ring any place that deals in the brand.
I bought a few new tapered allen screws a few months back for mine.
If ya get stuck, i can ask the place i deal through up here

No worries.
From the splined axle shaft protruding from the hub, left exposed once the Freewheeling hub has been completly removed. You go round and count the slines on the shaft. 8)

Arrr crap!!!!

Serves me right for not reading the posts properly!!!

I thought it was HoseHustler that said the hubs he had were 21 spline.

I am a WINNER
Sorry

But i believe you can still get parts for them anyhow. Let us know how you get on, would be good to know just what you can actually get for them.
I know you can get the little allen screws that hold the aluminium caps on!!!

Not me, just said I had some, seems that they won't fit eatenfuller's beastie,
anyway had a quick count appears the Hilux are 30 spline, so guess I'm no help

all right guys a bit of an update about those superwinch hubs. emailed all the suppliers in the country for them and all said no spare parts but i could give you a really good price on a new set. then an email from paul and phil at traxion.co.nz asked for a photo of the part. they looked through there parts bin and found what i needed. so big ups to those guys for helping me out.just for the record a wrecker in chch wanted $80 for one hub and these guys are doing it for $20. thanks to all the others who posted here to.
