Yep, when you fit your replacement speedo, the best way to reset the numbers to where they were is to take it out, and carefully stretch the little clamps that hold the gearshaft in, slide the shaft out and just put the numbers where they are supposed to be, and reassemble. Doesn't leave any marks if you do it right.
The wof system just brings up a warning for the wof guy, you can ignore it. So far it doesn't seem to tell the ltsa unless it's higher than your last paid diesel tax.
