the sensor for the light is at the diff - so either the wire is shorting causing intermittent light, or (worse) there is no vacuum on either side of the diaphragm and the locking mechanism is intermittently engaging. NOT GOOD as it 's probably not fully engaging so will cause the teeth on the dog clutch to get rounded off. If that happens, it'll disengage under load, and is a major rebuild job requiring specialist welding & machining of the dogs, plus will probably need new bearings, ring & pinion if the diff is full of metal shavings....

psychopathic bitch... working mint, at the diff and at the solenoid ends... meh can only assume the intermintent light when switched OFF was water from the river crossings in the wiring

Remember guys you can get dif lock replacement valves from Mac Valves Pacific, basically you remove the old vacuum valve and replace with a small single solenoid mac valve. the valve only operates when the dif lock is engaged, unlike the old original versions which are energised constantly.

YES REX... Its still sitting in front of me, but I did temperly wire and plumb it up last weekend, works nice but after all my issues the double solanoid works good so havent swaped them over yet (got it off ya last month... or maybe Jan)
Now as I was on it last w/e, I had the locker working well on and off (could here it) but the dash light never came on, so I pulled the switch off the Diff and it was flooded a was the wiring, so Im thinking my issues all along (apart from the missing and persished hoses) is the light switch... and Im thinking ya cant buy them off the shelf?
