Here's a question - why do most guys run 15in wheels with Simex - why not 16in and get some extra diff clearance - or does it not work like that ?
How much extra strain on the diffs and cv's with larger wheels ?
Just a thought !

TYRE/WHEEL SIZE - 15in OR 16in ?

Re: TYRE/WHEEL SIZE - 15in OR 16in ?
15 or 16 is only rim size not overall tyre size mate so nah it doesn't work like that , there is larger range of tyres available in 15 inch than 16 inch on the NZ market and 15 inch tyres are usually a little cheaper than 16 inch because of their more readily availability, but some people have to run 16 inch rims to clear larger brakes such as later model 80 series cruisers or if you've fitted some really big pot callipers to try and stop the big oversized tyres you've just fitted to your truck , if your using simexes theres also a good chance your using a set of beadlocks to keep them inflated and tightly seated on the beads so if your shelling out a grand to get a set of rims beadlocked it makes sense to beadlock a rim size that has the biggest and probably cheaper range of tyres available

Reminds me of a recent discussion with an insurance rep: when telling them of the tyre size increase, they commented the increase from 17" to 35" being quite big...
To her credit, she understood it quite quickly once it was explained in more detail.
