safari ute chop

anyone know the legalities of doing an open back ute chop?

have lwb low roof that needs the arse chopped off it

Legally, It will require low volume certification. Mine was done at katikati engineering by the previous owner. They've done an excellent job of the deck. Apparently the do a lot for forrestry, so they'd be a start.

Didn't deal so well with the gutters inside the roof and now have rust patches coming through. But on the whole, fairly happy.

Of course, practically, all that's needed is an angle grinder and a welder...

Edit: is it to be for ffroading only?

Yep will definitely need a cert but not sure if I have to have a back wall or if I can just brace it and leave it open
Might just email a certifier and see what they think

Any replies from the cert guys? thinking of doing something like this with a rust truck i have, whether its the roof chop our rear end chopped, still not sure.
