where to find part for safari

Postby 42south » Thu Jan 04, 2018 3:40 pm

Hi Guys
Due to the reliable nature of my 1991 SWB GQ safari non turbo I have seldom posted, but have lurked about.
I would like to replace the small gauze filter in the inlet banjo of the injector pump.
I have found the part number as Nissan 14371-R8025A the local agent reckons it is only available on order from Japan at $38
Is there a source locally in NZ that anyone knows of who could supply a suitable filter.

To be honest I think most people remove it and discard it.

Hi Calvin
thanks for the reply.
I don't have one at the moment, but was considering it after reading stories and viewing photos on the Aussie sites, showing blocked filters with what appeared to be fuel filter material.
However my truck has done 190,000 kms without one, so perhaps I am looking for a problem that doesn't exist.
Cheers

Keep using a banjo filter, they are there for a reason.
A good diesel pump workshop should have them in stock.

Bang on two diffs.
The tauranga diesel specialists had them in stock.
Their advice was to keep using them.
Many thanks
