(hope he doesnt drive like a nanna ffs or we'll loose to those guys in the fj40's) Using the LR but it needs a lot of work done on it and on the cheap! You may find me scrounging around in your back yard for bits and hoarding it at marks

Don't worry Mike, it is just the lure of beer that makes them quit I am sure. Make sure you take enough amber liquid in the vehicle with you and you will be OK :)

Happy to help where I can - working bee and potential pit gofer.

If you get a decent exhaust done like this one, I have a new set of britparts super gaz shocks I may donate   Probably want to go rear disco/rangy springs alround otherwise you will be bottoming out all the time on your lighter rate springs. I know the dude driving this 90 and he was suitably impressed - does a few hill rallys over there, but then its his product so of course he pushed them

and I would get in contact with (I think) Darren Bell in the mustard coloured WC rangie with the TVR engine. Hes done it or atleast woodhill race, so he may have some pointers on where to strengthen chassis/susp/yourself

wasn't held last year. Its only every two years.

Simon Gilbert did 9 laps in 2007 in the paddock car but it was a wreck afterwards.
His way of communication to pit crew was texting..............

He rolled it trying to text and drive at same time............

Mike and I used the Landy in it's original form to do the Undie 500 (Canterbury Uni trip where you have to get a vehicle for under $500 and drive it to Dunedin, stopping at as many pubs as you can on the way) in about 1998 or 1999. Therefore, for nostalgic reasons I think we should refer to this event as the Undie 1000!

I've been going through the ORANZ Rulebook to see what we are going to need to do. There are a few things I've identified that we are going to have to replace/sort out on the POS. Stinky, the first thing we are going to do is the rollcage... I will definitely be driving it like a Nana until that is sorted ;)

Rex, the suspension is definitely something we'll have to look at. Watching some footage from 2007 it looks like it's pretty rough in places and I doubt the current setup will last 1000kms. The least we'll have to do is have plenty of spares :D

Hey Mike - good on ya for giving it a go!!!!

I've got a full set of suspension arms with brand new bushes in them that I can bring along as spares......I suspect you may need them, as Rex suggested I think that the chassis will need a little strengthening and how about twin shock set-up at least on the back - shouldn't be too hard to do, Oh & with it being pumice based I'd take a couple of sets of brake pads!!!!!
