Desert Defenders Off Road Club - Tag-Along Farm Tour

Postby Ant » Mon Sep 30, 2013 4:28 pm

Hey guys

The Desert Defenders Off Road Club are holding a 2 day run in November. The trip will be over farm land around Karioi, Tangiwai, Waiouru and Irirangi. The farmers have given consent to travel their properties so we are good to go. Cross your fingers for some good weather around the 16 and 17 November.

Those who get entry forms back and pay will be entered first. They will close once 60 paid entries are received. Cost will be $200 per truck for the two days, all passengers included in that price. All passengers will need to have safety belts though! You can order meals on top as usual or you can cater yourself for the weekend. Camping is free - from Friday to Sunday.

For more info or a registration form please contact Kandy 021 744 573

Hey guys, we have been on 3 of these now and the atmosphere and scenery are amazing!! It is not a hard out trip, there are lots of shineys, the odd mud hole to play in. Has an awesome bunch of people that usually attend.

These trips do fill up pretty quick - definitely highly recommended!! These guys have been running for about 4 or 5 years and are a huge contributor to Variety Bash (Childrens) Charity.

Very family friendly - kids of all ages (our 4 and 6 yo are coming), Be great to see you there!

Buggar, this is the same weekend as our tag along event in Whangamata. A shame we cannot get some kind of calander going for these events to help maximise all our numbers...that and my son and I were keen starters for this event if possible :(

Yep got that one. We have been on that list with the Whangamata event for a couple of months. Just wondered if the forums could set up calanders for different types of events also. I think i'm just dissapointed as I was keen as a keen thing to do the Desert Defenders event :) Have to look forward to next years winter event...

Trouble with trying to do something on forums is it needs someone to continually get the information and then update and keep to the front.
It was tried a few months back and but it dropped away.

Why repeat what someone else is already doing and is readily available on internet and in print?

No worries, just noticed the clashing dates and wondered what the options might be....sorry did not mean anything by the comment.
