Postby suzolla » Tue Apr 14, 2015 8:44 pm

Hi Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any more Winch Challenge type events planned to be run this year in the NI.

While at the Easter one heard that there might be some Teams ones coming up ??

Cheers

Heard teams event at Possum might be in August?, be great if it is, would allow more time to fix/get truck sorted before Manukau comp.

That's the plan. Things underway for teams event held at possum palace by Norwest OHV Club.

That's one of the main considerations on timing, Roger.

As it was as dry as it gets some of the tracks were easier than planed, but it will be different story come end of winter

I see the NZ4WD calendar says that Possum Palace teams Event is 24 - 25 Oct, is this correct.

Also, regarding Costa, what are the dates and what is the story with entering it. Is it individual or teams.

Yes, that is correct. Battle of the Palace being held over Labour weekend.
And of course there is the Manuaku event as well 13/14 November.

Can anyone answer this question for Gareth.
I believe he will want to know if its open to 'Outlaw' trucks.

ie; ex trials trucks that are now bush trucks and also tyre size limits etc etc

Hi all,
Manukau Winch Challenge 2015 entry form will be available from www.manukau4wd.org.nz from tomorrow.
When you get to the site I think you need to click on 'Useful Links'.
Being a month later we hope to be able to utilise areas of the farm last used about five years ago. But it all depends on the weather.
Hopefully we won't need ambulances or fire engines Tim. But I'm sure you will bring all you need.
Regards,
Dave

Confusing your Tim's David?

Both good guys with high technical ability and knowledge that they willingly share, but so far as I know Suzolla has not required an Ambulance lately.

Madaz on the other hand is lying in a hospital bed, waiting for his ankle to be rebuilt (possibly never be the same again) and looking down the barrel of six months of forced time off work, which is a drama when you're self employed. As such, I feel that both this joke and the one in the Manukau entry form email are in poor taste.

Yes, it seems I was a bit premature with my comment.

I was told emergency services were not required and I therefore assumed that Tim was in fact ok. I was not told, however, that Tim had left the event prior to their arrival and that he had suffered an injury.

Any injury suffered in our sport must now be considered 'major' especially with the current situation with both insurance and coming government legislation.

I'm sure all our thoughts are now with Tim and we hope for his speedy recovery.

Regards,
Dave

Hi all,

Manukau Winch Challenge is on November 13 & 14 at Onewhero, just South of Pukekohe. There are four classes of competition. All of which have entries. The most entries are in Modified class (14), about half the field.

There are a few places available. For entry details and forms go to www.manukau4wd.org.nz and click on 'Useful Links'.

Kind regards,

Dave
