census is for a minimum of a single roll bar behind driver and co driver.. due to a club truck having a roll over last year and having collapsed the roof a wee bit.. But this is still being decided.. I'll know in due coarse..

Clubman class is debating the type of roll cage atm
Outlaw = min 6 point cage
Open = min 6 point roll cage

rules shouldnt be too much longer

cheers

when you read the rule book, please keep in mind that the clubman roll bar is still being discussed.. but apart from that it should be good..

Sweet thanks, so has the 50 point per mod rule gone or something? Didn't see it there. Also doesn't specify Clubman A and B tyre sizes... just 930mm for clubman. Does that mean A and B have been merged? Cheers

So Clubman A and B are gone? What are guys in the little Zooks gonna do? They can't really go stuffing 35's on.... not really gonna make for such an even playing field...

It was interesting to look at the Clubman truck line-up at the Timaru winch challenge during scrutineering...
Differences in diff clearances were VERY obvious (largest to least)
Zooks on 33's
Hilux on 35's
Zook on 32's
Hilux / Jeep on 33's
Landrover on 35's (Nissan axles/diffs)
Cruiser on 33's

Tyre size alone is not a significant factor in comparing trucks...
Then there was a range of diff configurations - some open, some LSD to double lockers
And winches super slow Supercheap, to PTO to double motor 2-UP and enlarged drums...

Just saying it never was an even playing field - but it's a class intended for lower-spec trucks and less experienced drivers where there is less likelihood of rollovers or serious damage and therefore less expense and modification needed. My goal was always to finish every stage (which never happened), and 2nd goal was setting a good time... Which happened occasionally...

tyre size is not an issue, the suzuki will out perform any truck out the if its set up well and the driver thinks about what he is doing.

had as much fun in my zuk as i did in my winch truck.
even preferred the zuk in some events.

Now that I look at it I'm wondering if that just applies to the North Island competition....
