3.1 manual mu. what to look at when buying info wanted.

looking at buying the above, any woes these vehicles to look out for, its a 1996 3.1 diesel. will be using to tow a 14'6'' boat, no offroading oher than beach launch. thanks

heard that the 3.1's have weak heads/ blow head gaskets..

look into gettin the 2.8's/2.7's?.. stronger and more reliable i believe.. especially if towin..
