Postby NB42 » Sat May 24, 2014 8:30 pm

I'm wondering what year isuzu transfercase slides onto the output shaft of the holden series one auto? Have the auto from the 4jx1 and the auto from a 1995 4jg2 3.1 Bighorn/Mu. Cheers

The one I have used is from the 3.1 auto bighorn. auto has a lower first gear than manual. believe mu 3.1 MU will do it too. A particular year mu has a smaller diameter front driveshaft making trans sump clearance better but still not great for suspension travel. some transfers are part of the box and not separable.
Adapter... remove trans tailshaft cover. cut 50mm off shaft. There is a groove there telling you where to cut. make a plate to match trans bolt patern. A plate to match transfer box bolt pattern. put a piece of 100mm pipe or box section between the 2 and weld. Done.
