Transmission oil change on 1996 Isuzu wizard

Postby Diorama » Sat Aug 02, 2014 10:40 am

Can anyone tell me what would be the best oil to use for an Isuzu wizard 4L30E auto trans and what quantity it takes to fill from empty

I had G and T Autos in Bundaberg change the transmission oil in my 1998 Isuzu Wizard Mu (yes I bought my Wizard over from New Zealand when I moved here eleven years ago) they used 20/50 grade engine oil took 1.9 litres.

Gazza, you don't put engine oil in a auto trans, and it is more likely to take 12 litres than 1.9 litres, so your first post to this forum is either a troll, or you are referring possibly to the transfer case.

It's OK BlakeNZ,
I know Gazza, he's a genuine guy!
Poor old sod turned 70 the other day. Got his gearbox and transfer case mixed up.
I did find it interesting that the transfer case only held 1.9 litres of oil.
Is that the total amount?
Seems so tiny.
Mind you, I have no idea what my Prado holds.
Just send it in to the Garage and say "Full oil change please".
