Bighorn computers

Postby brett55 » Mon Dec 21, 2015 12:38 pm

I've got a 1995 Isuzu Bighorn Plaiser 3.1 diesel manual, had it for years ,been a good wagon.Couple of days ago it suddenly ramped up to about 5000 RPM when I was driving through town, kinda exciting and could easily have caused an accident. The minute you start it it revs right out, won't idle at all.
The guys at Diesel Maintenance have tracked it down to a stuffed computer.8 to 10 weeks waiting and a lot of money for a new one ex Japan.Nothing new available in NZ or Aussie.
A very helpful guy at Cal Isuzu did a bit of spade work and found out the computer in my Isuzu (897127-0041) has been upgraded about 10 times and i've got a huge list of part no's that will fit but no luck yet with a second hand one.
Anyone had a similar problem and got any idea where I could find one.
I think this is a really dangerous fault, could easily cause an accident.Cheers
Brett

I have an ecu here in my parts truck. What part number do you have?
