XJ Cherokee Diesel

Postby minimun » Sat Feb 09, 2008 4:41 pm

Hey there

I currently have a 96 cherokee limited but being only 16 the fuel is starting to be a pain
I want a diesel and have been searching utes and the common diesels but love the jeep's. I have found they do the face lift in a turbo diesel so wondering if they are asgood as their petrol cousins???

Has anyone got any pros/cons or better yet maybe have owned one?

sorry man, never had one nor known anyone who has.

I guess the old petrol v diesel argument would apply here. Try posting up in the other forums, i think theres a recent thread called Petrol v diesel.. or something to that effect.

Try asking on http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum - there are many many Aussies using diesel XJs, don't know myself as I don't really like diesels much.

Hi,

I have seen one in action and it went very well, the beauty was that they came in manual. They are a VM Diesel

They had 4 individual cylinder heads as they were a marine motor - I think they could get hot and crack the back two quite easily but could well be wrong. Might pay to Google it?
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods ;)
