Right... my biggest undertaking so far... (for someone that's not overly mechanically minded)

New Headers
No too dificult... but it took me near 2 full days...
some of the bolts on the underneath are a real B!*ch to get to... and there is no way you can get a torque wrench on them...
also, my arms are scratched to buggery.

The intake and the exhaust manifolds do touch at the rear of the engine... but i got all the bolts in...
I'm pretty sure the intake is sealed, but where they touch it will be putting upwards pressure on the intake, and wanting to create a gap.
is this going to be a problem...?
The other option is to grind a bit off the intake so as to relieve the upwards pressure. (from googleing, others have done this)

All the instruction i could find, said the bolts needed to be torqued to 24 - 26 ft-lb...
this seamed very light to me...

but shes on, and runs smoothly (sat in the garage)...
Smoking heaps as the paints burns off / sets in...
Road test this weekend... but i am ever hopeful all is good...

do the grinding. you don't want those two touching each other.
I can see that it looked like a difficult job alright.

Bugger, Bugger, Bugger...

Everything seamed to be going to plan...

She starts fine, and go straight to a comfortable idle.
However, after giving a little bit of throttle, she seams to take longer to return to a steady idle.
i haven't road tested her yet as i want to find out what this issue is...
I have run her up to temp once, with out issue, other than the slow return to idle.

I have looked for a vacuum leak by spraying CRC in possible location, but this did not change the idle speed at all.

I have cleaned the Throttle body

What other ideas are there, before i pull her apart again...

Actually, I might road test her, as googling made mention of her having to relearn the idle due to having the battery disconnected...
