I am in the process of changing the bulbs in my semi sealed headlights.
I unplugged the wires etc and as I was taking the rubber boot off the back the whole bulb assembly came off in my hand (The part the holds the main bulbe and park light.) Now I have the glass lens in vehicle and 2 bulbs still attached to frame with the spring wires etc in my hand & I can seem to get it back on and tight. Have I broken something or am I missing something? Please help as I need to drive home in the dark tonight and at the mo I have no headlights.

Thanks but mine are semi sealed so I can take the bulb out from the back but I think something has broken as the whole assembly came out in my hand and I am sure that is not meant to happen.

Re: Urgent Help Please
if you cant work out how to put it back together don't pull the other one apart so you'll still have one headlight left to get back home tonight
Re: Urgent Help Please
I wish I could shed more light on this, but without a photo of what's broken we are really in the dark.

you guys!!
I'm guessing in pulling the boot off you have pulled out the spring/clip
But as these guys have already said with out a photo I'm just taking a stab in the dark

There are a couple of pics showing the spring clip I'm talking about.
Hope that throws some light on the subject

Re: Urgent Help Please
Well now I can shed some real light on the issue.
After coming home and feeling in the dark about this I pulled the wholes lens out. Turns out it was broken.
The metal case that holds the bulbs in place is only held on by 3 dodgy looking creases that stop it falling off. With my super human ninja strength (coming from a fat 41yr old) I must have pulled it right off.
I heated the lens up slightly then pushed the bracket back on then when it cooled it was fine. I also dripped a drop of glue into it to hold it better.
I hope I have enlightened all and pleased to shed some light on what was a dark situation OK NOW BACK TO WORK.
