jeep cherokee xj suspension kits???

Postby skidtoy » Thu Oct 01, 2015 8:06 pm

hi

just asking who is bring in kits to suit xj's...ive seen heaps of jeeps on trademe with rough country kits and there is one with a zone kit also, I saw on here about a guy saying he was bringing in the iron rock kits which it what I actually want but it seems it came to nothing...??? I have been looking at just straight out of the states but the freight is the big killer at this point. im wanting a 3-4" lift. thanks

There are a number of places that do suspension kits for the XJ.
Just not sure who specifically does Iron Rock Offroad stuff but worth asking the jeep specialists.

You could try Greg at Offroad Specialties in Whangarei or 4WD Accessories in Christchurch that also deals in Jeep stuff.

i have been looking at bringing it in myself but the freight cost is around $1200 to bring in a complete kit which is more than im wanting to spend at the moment because total cost would be around $2500 by the time ive got all the parts I want...while this isn't a huge amount when you price up parts here in nz its just more than im wanting to spend on a truck that will prob only have 32" tires at the biggest. if it was acouple of years ago I would have just ordered it but with wanting to buy a house spending too much on the jeep just isn't worth it right now. I will try the local guys mentioned I did look at the offroad specialties site but found they didn't really have what I was after but will have another look.

you need to factor in the current USD as well its pretty low at the moment which starts making things even less economic and the same thing goes for importers bringing shipments in they have to recoup the extra costs of the low exchange rate :(

$1200 for freight is excessive. I bring the parts in for my Jeeps, having been doing that for a number of years. Who are you looking at buying from in the US? Quadratec or Summit Racing through DHL Express International is probably the cheapest combo I have found.

I have bought suspension parts, soft top and even skid plates.

Just done a quick check on Summit Racing for a ProComp 3" lift for XJ, its $1,082 USD including freight to Auckland all up. You have to pay GST on top plus customs charges, but that's normal.

Check with Quadratec.

i made some coil spacers and some rear shackles, lifted mine 60mm for free, remove the sway bars, cut the guards, fit 31s,or 32s and away you go, i run 32s or 33s on mine and its sweet, when i do the next mod which is jap axles and a maybe another 50mm of lift it also will be done without spending much , mainly because im a tight bastard and like making my own stuff.

Ive ordered a budget boost kit(coil spacer and shackles) and 3" shocks for now but will get some 3" lift coils later on as. I have a few sets of leaf springs laying round so wil barstad pack the arse end because its sagged and I do alot of towing so n extra leaf should work ok for now. Once ive got a house I will look at getting in some long arms and transfer skid/arm mounts

I've got some relocation shackles, IRO shackles, and an IRO leaf pack and front springs plus Bilstein 5100 front shocks to suit if interested, the full kit will give approx. 6-6.5" lift. You will just need to source some long arms etc. as I'm still using these on my rig. Reason I've pulled them out is I've switched to 14" coilovers all round.

Sorry mate, haven't been on here much lately as you can tell.

They are made by Liquid Iron Industries.

I'll end up putting a whole lot of stuff on Trade Me eventually. I have a massive Jeep hoard of parts to attend to, shifting house on the 26th Feb so I'll create a stock pile of parts to list.
