Would be interesting to see road handling characteristics with 272 kgs hanging off the back like that. Leverage and front wheel contact on a hill climb.... Fun fun.

What are you planning to carry on it?

Looks stupid too...wouldn't want anything of value on it incase you reverse into something or someone rear ended you
Roof cage would be better option?

Well the design is fairly OK (i.e. not stupid). Construction seems fairly sturdy. I do agree roof rack would have been my choice as well. It can be challenge on a TJ/JK with just softtop as to how roof rack is attached, there are some good systems available. But it's a matter of choice and personal preference.

I'm just curious about the leverage this would create.

Rated at 272kgs snd close to double the arm lenght out that will quickly add up to close to 1/2ton...
Whats the rated tounge weight on a std jeep tow bar?

Generally the ball weight isnt much more than 100 odd kgs

It isn't meant for off-road situations, everyone's pretty aware of that when buying it. It's for carrying extra stuff like camping gear when touring as boot space is limited in a 2 door TJ/JK when back seat is being used by passengers.
