Good news for the wrangler built in 2016

Postby frederic26 » Thu Apr 21, 2016 6:51 pm

actually not.... Thanks to my investigations, it sounds that nobody in NZ has a "real 2016 built' wrangler (unlimited or not).

Wanted to make sure I forward the information as most of dealerships are pretending they have one or two.... But still easy to see as the bumpers have changed etc... but it is only when u dig into each advertise, that you realize what they are trying to sell..

Will try to contact the Jeep NZ directly to see what they can say about all that m... :)

I fix my choice on a Rubicon Hard Rock Edition with some options... let's see that impossible quest... might be more easy to move to US :D

most if not all vehicle manufacturers production year begins/finishes in september/october in order to have "next years" production up and running to meet the end of financial year.

hence a 2015 vehicle could have been made in october, november or december of 2014 and still wear the 2014 pre facelift changes even though it is sold as a 2015.

EG My wifes VY series 2 commodore was one of the very last to roll off the production line with the 3.8 before the platform was revised to the alloytec 3.6.(vz)

even though it is registered as a calender year 2003, the last year for the vy 3.8's, it's production plate is technically in the 2004 production year.

Thanks but I am not complaining about their business/commercial/economical model which is obvious as you say for all manufacturers, it is just that you don't pretend that a car has been built in 2016 if it has been built in 2015 or parked a few years in another countries.
Same that you don't call a model that is actually another model 'badly' stamped..

vehicles are generally represented in model years not calendar years mate, you need to look at the build date if you want a vehicle from a specific time :D

oh and GM is probably the worst auto maker for doing that too. there is one area in missouri just stacked with excess production of GM vehicles after the "Financial crisis" that still has brand new vehicles parked since 2007.

You are half way across the world, looking for a 2016 build which is also a 2016 model year in April 2016. Good luck. You might have better luck hitting Powerball..... Ask for something that is possible given how the supply chain actually starts in Ohio (the only plant that makes Wranglers globally).

At best you will find a Oct/Nov '15 built as 2016 model year. Build date is meaningless in reality for American manufacturers. Its the Model Year that counts (and hardcoded in VIN).

Yes, I wasn't clear as my search of info here in NZ didn't help a lot. Perhaps, better to say that I am looking at a 2016 model year but in the US meaning of it, not the NZ one... In any case, I know that it will be difficult but yep, we are in April, I don't care to wait another 3-4 months..

If you don't mind waiting, you should be able to factory order one.
