94 XJ WOF woes

Postby slo_mo » Tue Jul 19, 2016 4:08 pm

Hi Guys,

Just got some news on the XJ failing a WOF on the below.

Panhard rod ball joint naffed
Exhaust manifold leaking - apparently just the gasket
Needs new front rotors and pads
Steering box mount cracked - does this need certing to be welded up?

Steering box mount crack repairs are classed as a repair not a modification. No cert required.

Panhard rod bushes or ball joint????
Or do you mean draglink ball joint
Waiter...there is a drought in my glass.

Its a Jeep so the panhard has a balljoint
TOYOTA - The Official Vehicle of ISIS!
And makers of the '92 Camry, where you got your first backseat handjob.

Ah some good news, would reinforcing it be classed as a modification? I don't want to get it reinforced then find I need to cert for just that. Rather cert later once the rest of the Jeep has been sorted out.
Also looking at the do it once do it right option to mitigate as it is my daily driver.

Panhard rod apparently the ball joint

Any good welders in Auckland on here?
