Re: TJ Build
I had the back seat on Trade Me for over two weeks, nobody placed even a single bid. So back it went in where it used to be. I was not going to just throw it for free.

Chur TJ she's looking real sharp! I like it a lot. Well done!
Never regret anything you have done, only regret those things you have not done!
Re: TJ Build
WOW so clean and new... Mine looks very average compared to yours.

Thanks. Hopefully it won't look this clean for too long though. I have been itching to go out this year.

Lozza , yours would have to be the best looking and best performing Jeep in the country wouldn't it..... and you're always polishing it I've been told...
Yea, though I drive through the valley of death (and it's mudbogs), I shall fear no trail;for tho art modified is my rig, and thy lift kit and lockers they comfort me. Amen

Nice looking set up.
Mine was a daily driver as well till recently. Hence it stayed clean and nothing too radical was done to it. It's now retired to weekends only. I had bought something else to replace it with but my wife said save the new one and keep modding/offroading the old one.

Re: TJ Build
Over the last week or so I have changed the air intake from factory airbox to an inline sealed airbox. Next will be to get a custom snorkel done to match it.
The photo I have is too big for the site. I'll upload it later.

Re: TJ Build
where'd you get your inline air box from?
Re: TJ Build
Its this one:
http://www.spectreperformance.com/search/product.aspx?prod=9833
Got it from www.summitracing.com
Added a couple of reducers, painted it mat black.
Snorkel will be out of the fender just in front of the brake master cylinder.

They have some really nice stuff! I can't wait till summer so I can take the top off.
I'm really enjoying this thread by the way, I'm learning a fair bit about the TJ which will hopefully help me when it comes to doing this kind of thing with mine

Whenever my wife sees me browsing Quadratec website she gets nervous! I've had the TJ for 11 years now, all the work has been spread over a number of years.

Re: TJ Build
Went out with the Club. Got rid of some of the cobwebs. Engine breathes more openly with the new airbox. Its easier to hit the rev limiter now!

Re: TJ Build
Damn, that inline airbox is just what I need - Im gonna ditch the Banks system as its like a whales mouth for water and Im not going down the sensor replacement path again.
Re: TJ Build
Started installing LEDs for upcoming night run in Woodhill:
I haven't figured out where the switches will go yet.

Re: TJ Build
Painted it a new colour last night in Woodhill:
It was a great night, perfect weather. Very happy with how everything worked, till I hit one particular bump and knew something is not right. Yep, steering was now upside down and TJ still drives straight.... Hmmmm... Had a look, bent drag link in two places with one hit. Tie rod looks a bit suspect as well.
Kept driving, out came a tree branch from nowhere and gave me a pinstripe starting from the hood, up the windscreen, along the soft top window, and then taking out the radio antenna (ripped off completely). Worst part of it, wiper is bent too!
Had a look after washing most of the dirt:
I guess its time for some Currie Enterprises magic. Just have to figure out whether their system fits on a RHD.

Lights were a life saver, couldn't have driven anywhere without them. They were not harmed, ran all night long.

Re: TJ Build
Looked at it again in the evening, steering stabiliser is shot as well... Must have hit it while I kept driving. There are some marginal signs of rubbing on the diff cover too, but no actual damage to it..
I was not going fast or anything, really. Its just that it was dark at night and around 11pm!

It doesn't look bent. Control arm is still sitting straight as far as I can tell.
