Fitted second air tank for lockers, greased all suspension, stopped rear diff from leaking by making a new gasket, adjusted handbreak. Feels good to be working on it again!!

Stuck a new alternator on the truck last night, rang around all the chev suppliers and they all wanted $300+ for alternators probably made in china so I made my first ever visit up to pick-a-part and found a couple of 90A almost identical Bosch alternators for $34 each, did a bit of fine tuning with the angle grinder and did a swap over.... and I have a spare one in stock now

Shit theres a bit of bloody eyecandy up there with all those boyracers young girlfriends.... especially that young blondie with the red undies

Went cruising as a guest of Cossie 4wheelers on a little tiki-tour arount the Maungatautari (South Waikato) reserve with the kind permission of one of the landowners. Got briefed on some of the history of the area and generally had a nice relaxing day wheeling with top down enjoying the scenery.

Went for a drive up around the power project intakes and tunnels on the Friday, as per Andy Cocroft's book, then went up the Tokokino skifield, as far as the locked gate, could have gone around it as many others have, but thought it wiser to respect the gate. 8)
Saturday went to wellies to pick up new seats for the truck we bought off tardme, then drove around Oriental parade (didn't see as many as in Auckland, maybe they should swap a street name from up there!!!???  ), carried on around Shelley bay, and around to Island bay, then along the beach to the seal colony by the light house. Didn't intend on doing any 4x4 on Saturday!! I understand there is a trip that goes through private land, and goes the other way, would like to do that some time.....
Smelt a funny "hot coolant" smell on the way back, on 2 big hills, checked the radiator this morning, and found a split where the core meets the tank   :x .....so now I have to remove that and get it fixed, I will get it cleaned, and fit a new thermostat too, may as well, since I am in the vacinity, and one less thing to worry about too.
EDIT: Got the rad out, and the thermostat too, but at $100.00  for a new thermostsat I cleaned the old one, put it in hot water, as it opened happily, and closed too, it went back in!! 8) The body and the springs were all good, no rust or corrosion, so I reckon it'll be just fine.
Also started to plan fitting the new seats....not made easier by the fact Toyota use different length risers on each side  .....
No matter the problem, the answer is always give it more gas.......

not that fast. must have been a tree root or rock or something couldnt get what ever it was out of the mud. was carrying a little momentium cos it went up a little bit at the end. but nothing silly.
what ever it was was pretty stuck in there as it just stopped the truck without budging.

Yes, I'll take bow for that.

Mind you, for some reason, none of the shinys chose to come back through with us. I wonder why that was? And I hadn't even smashed anything by then!

Go to the Rancho site and download their spec and fitment PDF's. They cover pretty much every thing and once you find one that will suit the purpose (length, ends etc) you can match it to a type of vehicle and go looking any where you like with a specific vehicle for the parts guys to look at.
Toy - Zuk chassis tub, hilux 4.88 axles and transfer, Nissan CA18DE motor and auto trans, sc12 supercharger, 32 10'5 simex, twin motor 8274 custom freespool. Well the parts are all there in various corners of the shed
